What We Do

CFE ministry has two components: Church life & Church and Society as follows
  • A church movement that brings together peasant farmers and professionals in leadership: the ability to build a church without propagating social inequalities has been strength. Peasant farmers, students, school drop-outs and casual labourers are transformed into key leaders of the church
  • Responding to HIV and AIDS enabled CFE to understand at a deeper level the realities of gender inequality. Defending women and children for property rights enabled the church to understand the complexity of these issues. The church has had to provide support for decent housing and also engage the complex issues of negative cultural practices family, clans, local communities and public policy in the process of defending the weak. This experience provides lessons for a deepened engagement on the societal issues on gender and generational inequality
  • Setting up a specific section for enabling CFE to be more effective as church in society has enabled CFE to develop strategic partnerships. This has enabled the church to expand its work in areas of child support, food security, small enterprises and emergency response
